  • The Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (IGRUA) entrance exam is the gateway to their Commercial Pilot License (CPL) course.

    Duration: 2 hours

    Subjects: The written exam consists of questions from the following subjects, generally at the 10+2 level:

    • General English
    • Mathematics
    • Physics
    • Reasoning
    • Current Affairs

    Number of Questions: While the exact number of questions per section might vary slightly each year, previous patterns suggest approximately 20-25 questions for each of the first four subjects and 10-15 questions for Current Affairs. All sections are compulsory.

    Marking Scheme: There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

    • General English: Vocabulary (synonyms, antonyms, homonyms), grammar (spotting errors, error correction, sentence arrangement, active/passive voice, direct/indirect speech, tenses), idioms and phrases, sentence completion, passage completion, reading comprehension.
    • Mathematics: Algebra, trigonometry, coordinate geometry, calculus (integration and differentiation), probability, binomial theorem, sets, relations and functions, circles, numerical methods, two and three-dimensional geometry, vectors, logarithms, complex numbers, quadratic equations, sequences and series, exponential and logarithmic series, matrices, and determinants.
    • Physics: Units and measurements, description of motion, laws of motion, work, energy, and power, rotational motion and moment of inertia, gravitation, heat and thermodynamics, oscillations and waves, electrostatics, current electricity, moving charges and magnetism, magnetism and matter, electromagnetic induction, alternating current, electromagnetic waves, optics, dual nature of radiation and matter, atoms, semiconductor electronics, and communication systems.  
    • Reasoning: Coding-decoding, assertion and reasoning, arithmetic reasoning, Venn diagrams, word sequence, sequential output training, identical figure groupings, forming figures and analysis, construction of squares and triangles, analytical reasoning, logical reasoning, series completion, numerical ability, directions/distance sense test, alphabet and numbers, syllogism and analogies, input and output arrangement, seating arrangements, coded inequalities, decision making, statement and conclusion, assumptions & course of action, classification & odd one out, blood relations & odd one out, number, ranking, time sequence test, cause and effect, visual memory, clocks, discrimination, space visualization, shapes and mirror, non-verbal tests, and semantic analogy.  
    • Current Affairs: National and international current events, general science, history, geography, politics, Indian economy, basic aviation knowledge, sports, awards, books and authors, important dates, and recent developments

    Total Marks:

    The total marks for the written examination are 100, with each of the 100 questions carrying 1 mark.

    • General English: 20 Question

    Marking Scheme:

    • Each correct answer: +1 mark
